Minor whinge.
Feb. 8th, 2002 11:50 amI've been listening to the Shrek soundtrack since I got to work this morning. I noticed a while ago that it's thirty-nine minutes long.
Thirty-nine minutes? Why did I pay $13 or whatever for thirty-nine lousy minutes of music? Granted, it's a nice wide variety, I like getting a sampler of styles and artists that way, but it seems kinda cheap to me to put together less than three quarters of an hour of music and call it an album. It's twelve songs and one bit from the score - and one of the songs is the abbreviated version of "I'm A Believer" sung by Eddie Murphy. Sheesh. I go nuts trying to find nineteen songs that'll fit together and fill up an 80-minute CD as far as possible when I'm burning mixes or character soundtracks for my friends, but people who're actually getting money for their compilations can't be bothered to put together a full hour of music?
Bah.
I'll put up Fang's playlist this afternoon. I just got handed about five inches' worth of screwed-up addresses to correct. (Vertical inches - they're returned envelopes, mostly stuff we mailed to people who either died or moved since the last mailing.)
Today's pulp survival tip is #13:. If you trust someone, trust them wholeheartedly, and make sure they know it. The ones who don't deserve your trust will spend too much time gloating when they betray you, and your righteous anger will enable you to get your revenge. The ones who do deserve it will repay you in a spectacular fashion before the end of the movie.
