Guess who's still here?

Yup. Man, I gotta get some reflective Mylar today.
In other news, I sold my copy of Zu: Warriors from the Magic Mountain on Amazon Marketplace. It was a little too disjointed for me, and not fun enough or fascinating enough to make up for it. Felt rather like a Feng Shui game being run by a GM who left his notes at home. I have to ship the DVD out today. I also have to get my mom an MLA guide and find a wedding present for my cousin, who's getting married on Saturday. Most likely that'll be lunch as I have to go to Kean and pick up my cap and robes tonight. Graduation is next Wednesday.
On a random note, my friend from Hubei told someone I was half Chinese last night. Just because I watch their movies, eat their food, read their books, try to learn their language, prefer their art to the Hall of Constipated Europeans at the Met, read their history, and bow instead of trying to shake the hand of someone who's got textbooks in one hand and a Dunkin Donuts box in the other. sheesh. *grin* Nah, I'm kind of proud of that; I'll put it on the shelf with my other commendations, including the Honorary Jew award (from a fellow student at Case Western Reserve University, 1993) and the Honorary Canadian award (last year or the year before, if I recall aright). It doesn't make me any less of a Big Dumb Honky, but hey, it's a start. If a Finn could be elected to the Parliament of Japan, then... well, I don't know exactly what that means for me, but I'm sure I can come up with something eventually.

Date: 2003-04-30 06:53 am (UTC)People very rarely guess my actual ethnicity. I could be standing hip-deep in pierogies and they'd still guess Greek, Italian....
Another trophy?

Date: 2003-04-30 07:59 am (UTC)I worked with an Israeli team on some technology development; they gave me a wonderful copper medallion with the outline of Jerusalem etched on it.
Right now my research is focused on copper; it has extra special meaning for me.
