I think I can deal with the news again now.

I've managed to step back from last week's outburst a bit, and I think I can read the news again now. It's not that the world has changed or the political or geographical situation has changed, because it hasn't. It's just that I've had space to breathe and a bit of a reminder from the United Methodist Church* that things do get better, even from the absolute worst that could happen. It'll take some doing and some action on my part, but I think I can manage from here.

I do reserve the right to retreat from the news again if it gets to be too much, but for now, I'll manage.

*I'm technically Catholic, but I was curious about the 'jazz Easter vigil' sign I'd been seeing in front of the Methodist church for the past umpty Easters, so I went there last night for church.
