Civ III: PTW Patch released!

For those of you who play Civilization III, and have added the Play the World expansion pack, Firaxis Software has just released a new patch. Apparently it fixes a LOT of bugs and errors in the old version. According to the comments about it on the Civilization Fanatics' forum, it's been fixed to the point where it's now genuinely practical to play the game in multiplayer mode even with a 56k modem.

You can download the patch here, but be warned, it's 11 megabytes long.

Going shopping now. Will work on Iron Dog some more when I get back... oh, yeah, and the local Best Buy has bargain packs of Big Trouble in Little China and Kung Pow: Enter The Fist for $16.99. I'm happy.

I thought of you today when I read the newspaper. Apparently the Miami International Film Festival is showing, among all the other films, Shaolin Soccer. And they gave it a really good review.

Unfortunately, it's only showing twice. The first time I'll be seeing Prairie Home Companion live and the second time I'll be at work.

S'ok. There's stands in my local malls selling it alongside old Shaw Brothers chopsocky - and it's the Hong Kong version, Miramax hasn't sliced it completely to ribbons yet - so maybe it'll show up where you are, too.
