I've always had a fondness for tortellini. I'm working through the Babbel course in Italian and today's lesson was on the foods of the Emilia-Romagna region, which include tortellini.

"Different words are used for tortellini in different cities.... for example, in Parma, they are known as anolini."

-lini is an Italian diminutive ending. Ano is Italian for anus.

God dammit, Parma, now I can't unsee that when I pick up a package of Amy's Tortellini with Pesto. You're damn lucky your city makes awesome cheese.

Edit: I have been informed that they are called anolini because they look like rings, anello being the word for ring in the sense of a loop of something. That doesn't really help.
