camwynawake. At work. dealing with the fact that I had to haul my sorry ass out of bed and put up with the bus and the train. Wearing longjohns under my trousers because we've got clients coming in today so we had to wear business casual again even if we happen to be the person in the IT department who sits all the way in the back and sees servers more than other humans, so jeans are verboten today.
(Not that my trousers are business attire, really- they're waterproof work trousers from Duluth Trading Company- but they're grey and uniform in color and if you're not stopping to deliberately look into my office, they look like they're respectable pants, which is all I ask.)
... oh, right, the reason I'm wearing the longjohns rather than just grousing about wearing non-jeans trousers is because the temperature outside is -2 C (I don't feel like doing the conversion now, that's what it says on the Logan Airport METAR) and the wind outside is 24 knots gusting to 37 knots (what did I just say about not wanting to do conversions?) so it's FRICKIN COLD OUTSIDE and jeans might have protected me a bit against the cutting wind but these trousers aren't really designed for that. So- long johns.
... I need more coffee, and then I think I am going to go through Bandcamp and see what they have under the heading of symphonic power metal, because my usual use of ambient or dark ambient music works great for keeping the tinnitus at bay but isn't so good at keeping me awake.
