I was thumbing through a nail polish web site (holotaco.com) looking for new base coats in the hopes that one might be less prone to ripping away entirely and hit a base coat designed specifically for peeling off. Apparently folks who change nail polish colors often prefer that option since it's easier than going through ten fingers' worth of chemical stink to remove the polish.

The instructions on the peely base page noted that if you want your polish to last longer, you should make a point of not spreading your polish- base coat, color, or otherwise- all the way to the edges of the nail. I shall have to try that tactic next time.
