A friend of mine is currently trying to navigate a Massachusetts phone system in order to get some issues with $STATE_AGENCY cleared up. Apparently despite their not having changed addresses since 2015, said friend suddenly doesn't count as a resident of Massachusetts any more.

In related news, I have learned that St. Matthew the Apostle is the Catholic patron saint of those who must deal with bureaucracy.
