May. 3rd, 2022 08:18 amTook the cat to the vet yesterday because she'd been eating at most a third of what she usually eats on any given day. Also hadn't passed anything solid since Friday. Vet checked her out, said constipation can cause them to lose appetite, verified it was only constipation via X-ray- and also reported small kidneys (possibly congenital?) and weird heart positioning/haze around the heart. Might be hyperactive thyroid, might be something else. Waiting on the bloodwork.
We got sent home with lactulose and instructions to give her 1 ml by mouth every 12 hours until the bottle runs out. it's a 100 ml bottle.
this stuff had better be about eight or nine times less viscous than Laxatone. I can't make a purrito strong enough to hold this cat still until goo sloooooooowly makes its way down her throat.
