Tinnitus is something of a problem this morning. Using the MyNoise neuromodulator helps a bit. Giving it another ten minutes before I take off the headphones.
Probably going to order a bunch of white acrylic yarn and a bit more gray today. My sister asked me to make a pair of socks for my youngest niece. More specifically she showed me a picture of someone's crocheted slipper-socks, which were designed to look like a shark eating the wearer's feet, and asked if I could make something like that in time for Christmas (earlier also okay). I started in on this a while ago and last night got to the phase of the initial sewing, only to find that I had somehow bollixed up the gray part vs. the white part in terms of size. I could probably unravel both of them and reuse the yarn but I think I'm going to get some more and try another slipper first, since after all I do need to make two of them. Then I'll worry about whether I'm making a new one entirely or just reusing the resources from the original. (If I do not frog the original and reuse the yarn I will find some use for it. Maybe sew it up as a lumpy tube of some sort and use it to block under-door drafts.) I prefer using good yarn and natural fibers where I can, but these are slippers for a nine-year-old, a very active one, in a household with three siblings, two step-siblings, and four dogs. My sister would murder me with her mind if I sent her something with 'hand wash only in super gentle detergent and lay flat to air dry' type instructions.
(There is also a pair of slippers to be made for the niece's twin sister but I don't have the pattern for the penguin slippers yet. I'm waiting on More Than Words to ship the book with the pattern in it.)
Unrelated, the office's reopening has been delayed again, this time to mid-January. I'm not going to complain. I like working from home, honestly.
