A discovery:
Dec. 14th, 2002 11:11 amIt does not matter that green tea has much less caffeine than black when you drink eight or more cups of it. Aiya, I couldn't get to sleep last night... went to bed around ten, was still rolling over and staring at the clock around twelve. Snapped awake several times during the night, mostly for no reason. Once with a coughing fit somewhere around 5 AM, which I really didn't expect as I hadn't been coughing before I went to bed. A few times with sweats or chills. Ultimately I managed to sleep properly and woke up around 10 AM.
I'll be working on my term paper a lot today. I'm up to GeneML on my list of XML bioinformatics standards. I've got the material outlined, I just need to write it - I've done the intro, MAML and GEML to my satisfaction. GeneML is almost finished; after that I do CellML and then MAGE-ML, as MAGE-ML has done a fairly good job of making these others obsolete. After that it's the BIOML family. Prof had better not want the DTDs for these standards as they're each around ten pages long. Waiting on an email from him to clarify that.
My transcript arrived from CCM yesterday, which implies that it arrived at Kean, too. Accounting and Economics are both clearly listed, as is C programming and a separate course in object-oriented technology. This should be enough to convince Kean that I did not violate the terms of my conditional admission; I already had my math courses at the undergraduate level before I started with CCM. Yeesh. Must admit, I have this huge nostalgia for my Foods Prep classes now - they're listed on the transcript and I really miss the lecture/lab sessions at the county vo-tech. (CCM didn't have kitchens we could use on a regular basis, so they taught Foods Prep at the vocational/technical high school at night.) Well, once this is over I may be able to manage Foods III, which is baking. We'll see.
Off to skim the funnies, then work on the term paper. I'll be around on ICQ and- Oh! Oh, I almost forgot. Found a gorgeous online manga by Sylvia Leung, called Wish3. If someone has mentioned it to me before, I'm sorry, I don't remember. I just read through all of it to date and I really have to say, the story of a young man with three wishes, the last of which will kill him or drive him mad, and his journey to deal with this prospect is a really well-done piece of work. Go on, have a look. The design reminds me a bit of Strings of Fate, although the art style's clearly different. Have a look, I think you'll like it. God, I wish I could do that kind of work.
Okay. Funnies, tea, term paper, more tea, soup, term paper, tea. I plan on drowning this virus.
