Borrowing the phrase from Sara of Knights of the Dinner Table. (Pop over to http://www.kenzerco.com and look for the 9 December 'online KODT' strip to see where it comes from.) I'm the only person in the bio-informatics class who's doing the term paper instead of one of the coding projects. The term paper is huge, complicated, and enough to make my eyes bleed, but it has one advantage: it ain't coding. I can't code for shit. I can write and I can do research, but I can't code for shit. So I'm trying to put together around twenty pages or more of stuff about BIOML, MAGE-ML, ChemML, CellML, and all their many relatives.

Okay, the prof said around a page for each standard. I can live with that, I think. I'm not going to use typographical tricks on this, although I have the power to do so without being detected. (Hint #1: your professor knows what 14-point type looks like, but would require a jeweler's loupe to discern a difference between 12 point and 13 point. Hint #2: double space looks very much like 2.25 space. Hint #3: certain basic fonts are innately larger than others; know them, love them, use them. Etc.) I'm just going to have to bang this together over the course of the next week, as I have all the material on hand, I just need to process it into a usable format and hand it over... he seems to think four major standards and ten minor standards are suitable, as long as I do about a page on each. The important part is comparing all of them to each other. I'm going to be working on this in alternate windows all week, so if I seem a bit distracted, that's why.

On another note I got the term paper back in my other class, and I got an A. It's a reengineering proposal for Virtucon International - Dr. Evil's company. I figure they could save several meeeelyon dollars a year if they just hired people who were better fits with the corporate ideology, plus cut out the fat from the hiring process. I'll post the text online at some point, but there are quite a few slides involved; I'll have to put them on my site or something so people can click to them there.

I oughta send this thing to Mike Myers and see if I can get an autograph or something.

you are my hero! ;)

OH, and good luck on the other paper. I hate coding too. For me, Bioinformatics = scary; biotechnology = tasty! But hey, it takes all kinds!
