Started playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey a few nights ago.

Can I just say how damn refreshing it is to have a work set in the ancient world, in ANY part of the ancient world, where the default accent is not British?

(also the very brief bit that takes place at the battle of Thermopylae? THE PERSIANS WEAR PANTS AND LEONIDAS HAS ARMOR. THANK YOU.)

I loved AC:Odyssey so much! The Assassin's Creed games is a series I've always been really interested in, but never played because I am *spectacularly* bad at them. I used to call them the "best selling series in the popular 'falling-off-of-buildings-simulator' genre of games."

AC:Odyssey changed up the gameplay enough that I was able to get a handle on it, and boy am I glad, because it's aces.

Have all the fun! It's a great ride. (Apart for a problematic element in the second DLC story, but that's another thread.)

Haven't got the DLC stuff. I got the game from a Playstation Store sale, where the base game cost something like $15. I figured I'd go look for DLC if the main game went well for a while.

Fair! I didn't want to say anymore because spoilers and such! It's not enough to sink the game for me -- just a story decision I was really upset about (that is unavoidable, unless you just skip the entire DLC story.)

BTW, I don't suppose there's a chance of ever getting the last chapters of Janice's FNV story at this point? I'd drop real money in a real tip jar... ;) (Sorry, wishful thinking. Had to at least ask.)

Odyssey is SO pretty. I've played through twice and I still go back to just SIGH at the scenery. (I have done some of the tour stuff, but I like stabbing things too much)
