Been watching Altered Carbon on Netflix lately. It's not bad. Doesn't feel anywhere near as advanced/differentiated as a society set that many centuries in the future should, but it's not bad.

Also borrowed the first Takeshi Kovacs book, Altered Carbon, from the BPL yesterday via Kindle and started reading it to see the differences. It's an interesting experience.

fun fact: awkward sex scene writing is about ten times more awkward when they're written in first person.

I know what you mean about "not feeling different enough". It felt much more like Bladerunner than far in the future.

I did love the AIs though, especially Poe. I think he was my favorite character.

Poe is awesome and I’m gonna miss him when he dies. no way is he going to make it through the remaining episodes.
