Signed up for Comcast internet + voice this morning. Not keeping my old land line number, I think the only legit holders of that number are the town emergency services people, but I might pay Google Voice to gimme a number and port the old land number over to that just in case.

Comcast is currently doing contactless service delivery. The tech shows up, does the stuff outside that needs to be done, then drops off the equipment at the front door. I'm good with this.

DSL has been working reasonably well for me for the past ... eight years? Yeah, about eight... but when the chief operating officer at my company indicated earlier this week that we'd mostly be working from home until at least September... nyeeeh.

edit: I should probably note that I wanted to avoid Comcast when I moved here because of their track record of customer service, but my internet options here are:

Comcast
Verizon DSL
Satellite internet that requires drilling holes in the outside of the house, which my landlord does not allow
Screaming futilely at Verizon to extend FIOS past East Boston already goddammit
Two middle fingers extended in the direction of Google Fiber

FWIW, I've had mostly decent experiences with Comcast customer service over the years. I've had both home and business accounts at various times over the years. They've generally been fine. (I expect it varies from place to place, though.)
