Woman in red shirt wearing plain silvery-white Olson mask and glasses



Going to see how long it takes to do a pleated mask next. Will probably have to crochet the ties and stitch them into place rather than doing bias tape because I am not patient enough to try to make bias tape right now without an ironing board and bias tape maker no matter how easy eighty zillion Internet sites tell me it is.

If you've got an old T-shirt with no decal/printing on it (or it's high enough on the shirt to give you a good amount of shirt without it), I've made t-shirt yarn super-easily. I'm doing masks for friends with drawtrings, and don't have good measurements for them, so an extra-long piece of t-shirt yarn is the way to go for them.

(The first shirt I did this on was an old Uniqlo one from [personal profile] myrialux which turned out not to be that suitable for it, so I run a quick zigzag stitch down the strips cut from it to strengthen them for regular use, but regular t-shirts are fine.)
