https://www.39dollarglasses.com is an online service operating out of Hauppauge, Long Island, NY. They grind their lenses and make their glasses on-site. I had bought a pair of prescription sunglasses from a store in Boston before the quarantine came down, but they weren't ready until after I was forced to stay out of the city, so while I'm going to need those before the next time I fly- they have bayonet temples so they won't hurt under a headset, and they aren't polarized because that's incompatible with certain navigation aids- I got my pupillary distance and found my paper prescription and ordered a pair of sunglasses from 39dollarglasses.com.
Sunglasses cost more than eyeglasses, especially if you want options like polarization or special coatings, but 39dollarglasses was very fast and produced a really good pair of shades. They have a decent selection of frame styles, and like I said, they do all their own on-site work. So if you're looking to support a business here in the US, one that's in the hardest hit state, and you need eyeglasses or sunglasses, I suggest paying them a visit.
(Side note, they're currently offering $20 off your order with the code GET20.)
