camwynJust did an economic analysis of Dr. Evil's hiring situation at Virtucon. Here are my assumptions:
12,000 employees worldwide. Smaller than Novartis Pharmaceutical, but still reasonably sized. Assuming Dr. Evil hasn't got holdings in Africa or Asia as we've seen remarkably few signs of such installations (I have not seen Goldmember yet, though, so if there's something contrary let me know).
40% annual turnover rate, translating into 4,800 people being replaced per year. 600 are ordinary firings or voluntary leaves; the remaining 4,200 are fired by Dr. Evil, necessitating $3,000 per person in hush money to families/OSHA.
$1,000 in indoctrination/training costs per person hired. Total price to replace employee therefore $4,000 per person.
$1,000 for a decent background check on a prospective employee.
1200 decent background checks per year. Said background checks result in Dr. Evil only firing 3,000 people per year.
Total annual savings: four point eight MEEELYON dollars. Of course, the initial outlay's going to cut into that a bit, but we'll still be breaking even and better by the end of year one - and the amount we save as a result of this permits for serious investment in Evil Technology instead of Evil Human Resources.
