Medical Things I Do Not Like Dealing With, in order of not liking:

MRI/MRA exams
Thyroid ultrasounds
Thyroid things with needles
Ordinary OB/GYN exams
The eye exam that involves a MASSIVE FLASH OF LIGHT DIRECTLY IN YOUR FACE okay now we'll do it in the other eye
The ultrasound they do after the OB/GYN Kenobi says 'hey, is there a history of fibroids in your family?'
The manual exam they do to check for hemorrhoids
Mammograms
Having a fiberoptic telescope shoved up my nose so the doctor can see whether there's anything unpleasant in there, then doing it again up the other nostril
LASIK

A friend of mine told me that before she went in for LASIK, her five-year-old daughter asked, "When are you getting your eyes pierced?"

Ugggggh that's too much. Great sympathies.

If you want to talk about fibroids and assorted related exams and ultrasounds and MRIs and surgery, I'm your woman. I just had thirty of them removed. And yes, I do have a family history.

Hoping the invasive tests slow soon.

This is nowhere near as bad as it sounds. The LASIK was for my twenty-fifth birthday; the MRI/MRA test was in early 2015, as were the thyroid tests. Long story short, yesterday I went to an ENT specialist to see if he could determine whether my sinus issues were due to 9/11 dust exposure, and the visit involved the second time in my life that I've had the fiberoptic telescope shoved up my nose. I was trying to determine accurately where the experience fell on a scale of 'well, I have to hold still for 45 minutes while lying comfortably on my back' to 'how, if at all, do I tell the doctor that the numbing drops he put in my left eye did not actually work?'.

(As far as the fibroids go, they were just discovered this past year; my sister had them too, and my grandmother had them badly enough to require ... I think embolization. I don't remember if it was that or curettage. There's also a tendency towards fibrocystic breasts in my family but so far I haven't tripped that particular alarm.)
