Going to the Boston Families Belong Together protest tomorrow. Temperature's going to be seriously gross, like 90+ degrees. Got a white sleeveless shell top- it's Ann Taylor, so it looks respectable, and I know showing up at these things looking like the most respectable white person who ever whited makes it harder for the critics to write you off as another $SLUR sympathizer. Going to need something in the way of very light pants, though, more for temperature than for anything else. Hopefully I can find something linen.

Last I checked (yesterday) there were 2900 people who had RSVP'ed. Don't know how many of those are duplicates. God knows I got email from at least eight different organizations all asking me to RSVP via links to the same page, so it's possible other people on multiple lists might've checked in via more than one. I don't remember which org I responded to. Might've been Common Cause. Possibly League of Women Voters.

I gotta make a sign tonight, and get water bottles ready for this. I'm not going to a stone plaza with no shade and one of the starkest pieces of Brutalist architecture I've ever seen outside of East European war memorials looming over it and not taking water.

(Sign-wise I am leaning towards something to the effect of 'Matthew 25:35-40 trumps Romans 13'. If the Attorney General is going to ignore the damn Establishment Clause then I am going to speak his language right back to him thank you very much.)

I have one along these lines that I got a few years ago to keep the sun off my neck and face while I was paddling in the harbor. Probably a better bet than my oilcloth hat, which is also broad-brimmed but dark colored and not great for ventilation.
