Jewelry blitz
May. 23rd, 2018 09:01 amWhite stone donut with inverted triange of interwoven copper wires spaced by single matte red beads serving as the bail; interwoven triangular copper wire web at the bottom with dangles of copper wire, matte red beads, frosted white AB Czech fire-polished beads, and frosted white 3mm drop beads hanging from the bottom
An arc-shaped earring of silver wire with small tourmaline discs attached in a rainbow-like sequence ranging from dark magenta at the top to dark green at the bottom; the other side of the earring is almost as long and is visible coming down from the other side of the earlobe
(the other side of the earlobe would make a great title for a YA book, y/n)
an attempt at replicating the design of Diana Spencer's/Kate Middleton's gigantic sapphire engagement ring, only done with an emerald-green Swarovski crystal oval stone surrounded by opal-white AB crystal bicones instead of sixty-six thousand dollars' worth of minerals
a ring of silver wire and spherical silver beads for the band, with an emerald-green circular crystal rivoli of 10 mm diameter as the central stone, flanked on either side by three AB crystal bicones; the ring is photographed at a dramatic angle on a metallic domed thing against a background of light brown wood that looks visually clean and simple because rather than a photographer's studio I used my IKEA kitchen table and the cup thingy for catching drips from my tea strainer as props
A white stone donut pendant with a bail of curving copper wires, wrapped in coils of fine-gauge copper wire; one wire is decorated with several small clear round beads with a touch of rainbow AB finish on them. The pendant is propped up against the inverted cup thingy from the prior picture
the next picture URL has been removed because I don't like the look of the images I uploaded to Smugmug, but rest assured they were of a silver ring made of square wire and several tiny crystal beads
an oval grey labradorite pendant with a subtle amount of colorful 'flash' visible; it is set in a frame of copper wire that is woven finely down one side and braided together on the other, and it is accented by coiled copper wires, crystal rounds, and an emerald-green glass roundel at the top and bottom. The pendant hangs from a green satin cord against a light brown park bench in a city park somewhere and if you guess which park I will tell you if you are right or not
a pendant consisting of a strip of woven silver-colored wire perhaps a centimeter across, wound around a 12 millimeter crystal AB rivoli and a 14 millimeter majestic blue crystal rivoli as if the wire were a twisting ribbon; the frame wires of the strip extend downward and outward like spread fingers and end in small curls. The pendant is photographed against the palm of my hand.
A similar pendant, but this one uses a strip of woven copper wire and a single bright green 14 millimeter crystal rivoli, and the wire ends are much shorter and just curled up on themselves
An ear climber of silver wire and six tiny round colorless crystals, worn in my right ear; this is how I satisfy the urge to look as if I have multiple pierces without actually having to have more than one
A completely different ear climber of yellow-anodized niobium wire and blue round crystals, worn in my left ear
A bracelet of blue labradorite, shiny grey labradorite, matte labradorite, and blue crystal bicones, each strung on lengths of twisted silver wire and braided together; photographed on top of a bowl of red and yellow apples because that's where the light was best
A ring of square brass wire and tiny round gold-colored beads for a band, with a central round blue faceted stone flanked by two crystal AB bicones and one dark blue crystal bicone, held up in my hand; on a related note it turns out you can get a good-sized manmade lab-grown sapphire of really good quality and color for less than the price of a Wendy's Baconator
Same general design of ring, but done in sterling silver and with a single crystal round in the center on either side of the synthetic sapphire; the ring is photographed head-on against a background of smooth, rounded grey stones - this one was a Mother's Day present for my mom
a pendant of round arcs of silver wire on either side of an intense blue square stone (Swarovski crystal, not real stone), hanging from a silver chain against the background of my hand. Also a Mother's Day present for my mom. I was learning how to make my own settings for stones/crystals/etc. rather than having to buy settings or wrap the stones and hope for the best
a necklace of sort-of size graduated white quartz crystals, separated by emerald green glass rondelles, hanging against a black velvet background from a chain of hammered circular muted copper links connected to each other by small bronze jump rings
On my finger, a ring of brass wire and five golden-lustered round glass beads, the beads separated and bezeled in place by fine golden-bronze-colored wire. Multiple wire wraps can be seen on the shank wires of the ring between my fingers.
