camwynWent to Portcon Maine and Boston Comic-Con (FanXpo Boston, whatever) last year as the Silver Shroud from the Fallout 4 universe. The costume looked great and got me recognized by several people, but it involved wearing a long heavy coat, a woolen hat, and a scarf, and even though I was in Maine for the first con it was like 83 degrees out. Not going to repeat that this year.
Considered trying one of the Fallout 4 Brotherhood of Steel uniforms, but most of them require either a coat or a flight suit that’s been vacuum-fitted, and while I can find an orange flight suit in any number of places (including the local army-navy store) it’s still going to have to be altered heavily just to fit like in the game, never mind adding all the hoses and wiggly bits. As for the Vault Dweller’s options, I haven’t the patience to make armor, I don’t know anyone in the 501st, and I don’t feel like either making or buying the stuff to look like I’ve got a Pip-Boy.
However.
People love cosplay with props, earnestness, and a real dedication to staying in-character. I love cosplay that I can get away with wearing as regular clothing, or that at least involves elements that can be re-worn. And Bethesda added some new elements to the Creation Club’s downloadable content awhile ago that just happen to include Things I Can Actually Find In The Real World, or that I’m pretty sure I can find, anyway.
As soon as I locate a shirt of the right color, or a shirt that can be dyed to the right color with Rit, I’m going to find myself a matching visor and a pair of khakis and assemble the logo patch and wander around the next few cons I attend with a big box of donuts and a pack of Slocum’s Joe business cards.

I think I will get some transfer paper and print up the Slocum's Joe logo for ironing on. I may see about putting it onto a piece of stiff fabric of some kind and temporarily pinning or sewing the fabric to the shirt and the visor so I can take it off later and use the shirt on occasions that call for lurid pink.
Pants should be easier to find. They're just khaki.
