And in the latest People Are Looking For That entry, I went to the post office yesterday to mail my mother two pieces of jewelry I'd made her for Mother's Day (I'll post those separately later). The counter I went to in order to address the box had a bag from Papyrus on it- a company that sells very attractive but also rather expensive cards, small gifts, and related products. The bag had three cards in it, and a receipt for four cards, but no one in the vicinity responded when I called out 'did anyone leave a bag of cards here'. Which... not that much of a surprise. The nearest Papyrus was about two blocks away and the timestamp on the receipt was about half an hour prior. Whoever had bought the cards had come to the post office and mailed one of them but apparently forgotten the others.

However, according to the receipt the person who had bought the cards had used the Papyrus Perks loyalty program, so that meant their personal information of some kind was on file. If nothing else, Papyrus had their email address. I called the store on the receipt, told them I'd found a Papyrus Perks member's purchase at the local post office, and gave them the transaction number and time of day it was made. They said they'd let the person know and see if they could run over to pick it up before the post office closed for the evening.

Hopefully whoever it was got their cards in time to send them for Mother's Day.
