Mar. 2nd, 2018 07:33 amTown emergency service autocall last night said they expected hurricane force winds and significant coastal flooding, both from storm winds and from astronomical high tide at 11:16. Evacuation was suggested for homes along the east-facing shoreline and a shelter was opened at the senior center. The tidal flood gates were closed at 5 AM.
Logan Airport METAR says winds are currently 31 knots gusting to 43 knots with one peak gust reported at 46 knots within the past hour.
I realise there is a client visit at the office today but I'm in the IT department, not anything client-facing. I am working from home.

Date: 2018-03-02 03:12 pm (UTC)... man, I wish there were a live webcam looking at Winthrop's shoreline, because the Revere Beach webcam at Kelly's Roast Beef is not giving me the most reassuring images. (Revere is the next municipality up the shoreline from Winthrop.) And we've still got an hour to go before high tide.
