The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM Friday to 10 AM EST
Saturday. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.
* Location...Including the cities of Foxborough, Norwood, Boston,
Quincy, Taunton, Brockton, Plymouth, Fall River, New Bedford,
Mattapoisett, Providence, East Greenwich, Warwick, West Warwick,
Bristol, Narragansett, Westerly, Newport, and New Shoreham.
* Winds...North 20 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
* Timing...strongest winds Friday afternoon and evening.
* Impacts...Damage to trees, power lines, and property are possible
with winds of this magnitude. Power outages are likely. Take
action to secure loose outdoor objects.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are
expected for at least one hour, with gusts of 58 mph or greater
at any time. Damage to trees, power lines, and property are
possible with winds of this magnitude. Power outages are likely.
Take action to secure loose outdoor objects.
