Computer show!
Nov. 2nd, 2002 08:28 pmThere was a MarketPro computer show at the Parsippany Hilton today. For $6 admission, I got to go in and buy computer stuff cheap. I normally don't go to many of these things, maybe one or two per year; I think this was either my second or third this year, with the first being back on Martin Luther King weekend. (Needed a new monitor.) Black and White had made it painfully clear my computer, Victor*, needed a bit of spiffing up. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly rolling in dough at the moment - I'm behind in my school payments, I have to pay car insurance next week, etc. - so I couldn't spiff him up very far. Just enough, though. Victor now has 384 MB of PC-133 RAM and a 1300-MHz Duron processor, and the game runs pretty darn well. Can't wait to see how he does when I settle down with a DVD! Next on the update list is probably the sound card , as I'm using the mobo's onboard sound capability, and after that an AGP video card might be nice - but for now I'm quite happy.
Gotta go check on dinner. I've got gyoza steaming.
