Yeah, eventually. It was one of those moments where I kept waiting for things to get worse- I mean, it wasn't good at all, but there was more of a threat of horrible taste than actual full-blown horrible taste, if you know what I mean.
Mostly it supplies flavor and some extra B vitamins. Minerals, too, I think. They use yeast extract to produce some of the salty/savory flavor in things like Doritos, but I had sort of mentally blocked that fact in favor of the nutrition numbers.
The cereal was mostly because if you look at the nutritional information, they somehow claim to get 90% of the USRDA of iron into a serving. I'm not sure how. Maybe an industrial-sized rasp and a big iron bar poised over the initial wheat paste vat.

Personally, I've always believed nutritional yeast was invented for popcorn alone.
