I got home and a ShopRite bag full of various chocolaty things, Mary Jane peanutbuttery candies, lollipops and Nerds was on the kitchen table. Mom had bought real candy after all.

We didn't get many kids tonight.

Mmm, Kit-Kats.

Kiendo has an obsessive interest in watering trees. I am going to have to remind him, repeatedly, to water fields. I did catch him throwing a villager, although she lived - I slapped him for that, HARD. He staggered a few steps off and wept for a while, then ran off to sit in his pen. Well, tough tooties, horse - no throwing the villagers around, eh? He's not tried since...

He seems to periodically forget what he's supposed to do when he gets hungry. I have rewarded him for eating wild cattle because he gets as high as 90 percent hunger sometimes - he will be 85% hungry and he'll pick up a fisherman's catch, but then he'll take it to the Village Store instead of eating it himself! Still working on that with him.

I have largely run out of silver scrolls. I'm not going to go nuts trying to solve the damn sheep thing; if I did my sole reward would be the ability to use a Sheep as my creature instead of a horse. Kiendo's 11 years old, muscular, and a full unicorn by now. Why would I want to swap his mind into a newly available, pathetically unfit ovine body? Nope, don't think so.

I did take Kiendo out to the borders and get him into a fight with Sleg the Ogre. Okay, two fights. I fought him to a bloody standstill the first time and had to heal Kiendo; I let the horse sleep his injuries off after that and ran around feeding villagers and stockpiling water miracles. Eventually, after he remembered that he has to feed himself, I brought him back to Sleg - and during the fight figured out how to cast the Heal miracle myself. Plus, I think I cast Strengthen successfully, but I wasn't entirely sure. The important thing is he defeated Sleg. I know there are peaceful ways around Sleg, but I wanted a fight and I wanted to practice the fight skills, so Kiendo beat the crap out of the ogre nanny nanny boo boo. We're working on learning Heal Increase with the miracle dispenser we got as a reward; he's up to 84% knowledge, so once he knows it by heart... well, I think I need to start uprooting forests so as to have lots of wood ready for when we move on to land 2.

We're doing good. Kiendo's all red and bruisey in places, but he'll survive. He's a good boy and he likes me and he's trying to be kind and generous; he just needs to get a little focus. We'll get there.
