Massachusetts is having one of its outbreaks of democracy tomorrow. There's a state Senate seat coming up for special election- the office holder left so he could go be a lobbyist- and the primary's tomorrow. We've got ... I think six.... Democrat candidates running for the seat, and I think I saw something in the North End news web site about a Republican trying for it as well. Not that you'd know it. There are signs ALL. OVER. THE. PLACE. for the various Democratic candidates, and there are phone calls- I've been ignoring those- and there are action committee people going door to door (including, in one particularly outstanding case, one candidate's father). And there are candidates at the subway stations. Not just campaigners for them. Actual candidates. I think I've seen Joseph Boncore two, maybe three, times, and Lydia Edwards at least once, and... shoot, one of the other guys, might've been Petrucelli. I'm not really used to having this many political people showing this much enthusiasm for the area where I live.
I've already warned my boss that I may be late tomorrow because I plan to vote before coming in to work. I'd rather get my 'I VOTED NOW LEAVE ME ALONE' sticker as early as possible.
