Dec. 16th, 2015 09:46 amLast night I had what must surely be the single most Fallout moment in all of Fallout 4: after fighting off a bunch of scavenging humans to protect the USS Constitution and its robot crew, I watched the robots fire the Constitution's rocket engines and TAKE OFF INTO THE SKY OF BOSTON IN A FIVE HUNDRED YEAR OLD WOODEN SHIP.
AND THEN CRASH-LAND IN A SKYSCRAPER NEXT TO FANEUIL HALL.
Captain Ironsides is of the opinion that one or two more launches should get them to the ocean to resume their roles as protectors of the Atlantic coast. Bosun is in the process of evaluating what repairs need to be done and how much his current lack of any kind of usable robot limbs will slow that down. Mr. Navigator's just so excited that they flew at all that he's too busy muttering 'huzzah!' to do much. And since Captain Ironsides is a sentrybot who can't physically fit below decks even if he takes off his bitchin' admiral hat, he's given me the use of the Constitution's captain's quarters whenever I'm in that part of Boston.
Oh, and a gun made from one of the ship's spare cannons, so I can walk around Boston and shoot my enemies with actual cannonballs.
Like I said, I'm willing to bet this was the most Fallout moment in Fallout 4.

Date: 2015-12-16 06:58 pm (UTC)You can see the Constitution from the escape tunnel in the North End (btw, if you poke around the area you'll also find a sidequest that's a direct reference to Pickman's Model, by HP Lovecraft). If you can spot the Bunker Hill monument and find your way there, head east to get to the Constitution.
