Watched Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Not really sure what I was expecting, but... in the words of Opus the penguin's movie review, "Well, maybe not that bad, but Lord, it wasn't good."

I am now uneasy about the fact that the next DVD in my Netflix queue is Justice League: War.

...so one to avoid, then? I've been seeing it at Sam's Club but the premise didn't sound very interesting to me.

I was hoping that it'd be an interesting, non-joke version of Aquaman's origin story. While it's definitely non-joke, the writing makes my teeth hurt and the characterization on Superman, Wonder Woman, and Shazam was just... not what I look for in those characters. Things went downhill from there.

Actually, no, things went downhill from the moment they started off with a submarine being attacked and boarded by Atlanteans while in the Marianas Trench. Without the sub imploding or the water scything anybody to bits from the Atlantean hull breaches.

That stuff is probably too hard to animate or something. :P
