Today, on Stupid Ideas Theater:

"It's 85 degrees and humid out. Much too warm to get a Hubway bike and pedal over to the Petco in Cambridge on my lunch break. You know what'd be better? I should rent a Zipcar. It won't take long to get there and back, and I'll hardly have to carry the thirty pound bag of cat litter at all!"

AAAHHAHAHAHA HAHAHA HA HA HA no. It's not like that, ever. Because this is Boston.

On the bright side, at least I got to drive an electric car- full electric, not hybrid- for the first time. But still.

Having driven in Boston, I absolutely understand.

What kind of car was it? I've still never driven a fully-electric car, but I love my hybrid (Prius).

It was a Fit. I've driven a gas-powered one before; when I saw an electric was available today I thought I'd try it. It's not bad, really, but I felt a little guilty for wanting to turn up the AC since it more directly showed the effect on my mileage than a gas car would.
