May. 1st, 2015 09:29 amtwenty-four hour movie marathons, it turns out, are for other people. I made my attempt at the Marvel marathon the other day; it started at 6:45 PM on Wednesday. I got as far as the end of Thor: The Dark World around 2 PM on Thursday and called a taxi, because I can't sleep in recliners even when I really, really try. (Well, I managed to sleep through all of the first Avengers movie, as far as I can tell, and also through the part of Captain America between 'the Howling Commandos come through the Eyrie window' and 'the credits music switches to Star Spangled Man', but that... didn't really help at all.) The marathon ticket included Age of Ultron at 7 PM but ahahahaha no, wasn't going back for that. I made my way home and tried to conk out but my cat sat next to my bed making "you are going to DIE before feeding me again NOOO MOMMY NO" noises, so I had to feed her and the much more mellow older cat, and then get proper sleep.
I'll have to see Age of Ultron at some point, but I may just wait for it on Blu-Ray and settle myself in with spoilers as necessary before then. I have nothing invested in shipping or what have you, but I realized yesterday during the marathon that I'm very happy with Tony Stark's development as of the end of Iron Man 3 and that I don't really need more Iron Man. Which is a pity because I kind of adore movie!Steve Rogers and, well, Cap 3 is gonna be Civil War, but... enh. We'll see. Either way I had a whoooole lot of Marvel Cinematic Universe dumped on me at once and I may just hold off on Ultron for a while to avoid tipping over into overdose territory.

Date: 2015-05-01 04:53 pm (UTC)Say what you will about the Nolan Batman films, but having a real ending for Batman's career was such a good thing. Now I can ignore anything else with him.
