Ten degrees outside today. Couldn't find the Winter Soldier mask (okay, the half-face ski mask from REI, but since it's black and comes up to my eyes it's the Winter Soldier mask as far as I'm concerned). Wore the ushanka with the earflaps pulled down and a scarf tied over them, which helped. They're predicting forty-degree temperatures in a few days. That remains to be seen.

Did some bead stringing last night for the curtain tiebacks. I may need to get a very slim nail or a bead reamer; either that or I need to go back to the store and buy a few more of one design 'cos one of the beads is malformed and I can't get the threading needle through it. I need to go back at some point anyway. I'd like to try making some actual human jewelry, possibly for a gift for one or more of my niblings.

Waiting on some orders from soapmaking supply houses. crazyfurries and I came up with the idea of a Pacific Rim-themed bath bomb called Kaiju Blue. I have a lot of the basic ingredients already including citric acid but the scent is probably gonna need some elements I can't buy at the local stores. On a similar note, once I can stand to be outside again for more than fifteen minutes at a time, I need to get my butt over to Town Hall about getting a business certificate so I can open an Etsy store for homemade soaps and the like.

Flight school tomorrow. Blood donor appointment on Sunday. Hopefully the trains will be kind both days as I don't really intend to get a Zipcar unless I have no other choice.

Just a thought on the tiebacks: if the beads you're using are plastic (and you don't mind messing with the malformed ones), you can try heating the needle to see if you can melt your way through it.

Alas, they're glass. I'll remember the heating trick if I work with plastic ones, though.
