Yesterday does not seem to have been a good day for a lot of my friends. For me the worst part was probably the snarl that was Boston public transport, and climbing 33 floors' worth of stairs without stopping, but I know of one person who lost a family member, one person whose mother either has pneumonia or lung cancer and may have to move cross-country as a result, one person who's looking at having to move for other reasons, various pet health issues...

I'll do what I can for people if you guys need it. I can't make any promises of a place to stay long-term since right now I have someone who may need to crash in my apartment and there's only so much space, but I'll do what I can for people in general, I promise.

And if all you need is, say, emergency puppy or kitten pictures, let me know. I've got plenty of those.

And we had frozen heating pipes and our furnace started to die when we tried to warm the place up a little more. Thank goodness we're in a financial place where we can call in professionals and ask them to install a new furnace that uses antifreeze.
