Kiendo is about five years old now and has attained quite some size. Definitely turning into a unicorn. I still can't seem to get him to learn to DANCE, dammit. I tried leashing him to the rock I got the villagers to dance around. Didn't work. He'd seen me break a rock in an attempt to get something he could lift for strength training, and consequently kicked the rock and broke it. The villagers danced, but he just didn't get it...
On the other hand, I installed the Soccer Pitch patch. Download this addition (assuming you have at least Black and White official patch v1.1), and eight scaffolds from the workshop can become a soccer field, which the people will play on if their basic needs are under control. Since the training map I'm using has a workshop, I grabbed eight scaffolds (after a lot of Wood Miracles, which Kiendo can now perform) and got them started on one. Kiendo saw the people playing and watched for a bit...
He can't dance. But if he gets near the soccer field he skitters around the narrow ends with his hooves spread out like a goaltender.
Tempted to grab the logo of some soccer team, render it in grayscale, and make it his chest or back tattoo. On a related note the side/rear of his thigh or flank or whatever you want to call it is an acceptable tat region, so he can basically have something tattooed on or relatively near his bum. He doesn't, but he could, if I wanted him to.
He started repeatedly kicking a building down during today's game. I think it might have been some kind of glitch, because when I tried to zoom in on him to slap him, nothing I did registered on the kindness/punishment meter and all my moves (and his) slowed down to a crawl. I'm going to start the skirmish game again and see if he still does it. If he does, I'm going to slap him so hard he'll be knocked off his feet. NO DOING BAD THINGS TO VILLAGERS OR THEIR HOMES. On the bright side he's more or less learned to consolidate his poop - thanks to a well-timed, if inadvertent, reward on my part he now prefers to crap against rocks. I caught him throwing a villager, but she lived so I only slapped him a little bit. Doubt he'll do it again, though. He's learned to do Wood, Food, and Water, although I think he needs some work on Food in order to do it with a gesture. I realise I could teach him an awful lot on this map but I'd kind of like to get back to the game, so once he's learned Heal and can be trusted not to kick things over, we're going back to the game. The training map will still be around for later use between real game sessions.
Oh, I also installed WinAmp and the WinAmp patch. I think his seeming inabilty to move from the spot where he kicked the house over may have been related to the fact that it was playing "Steal My Sunshine", as before the kicking started he was jumping and clicking his heels every time they hit a major beat.
