Oh, wow. Atlas Obscura's e-newsletter today included some pictures from the nitrate ghost towns of Chile, and I gotta say, if there were ever perfect visual source material for Fallout games set in the Capital, Mojave, or Core Region Wastelands, these'd be it.








And so on and so forth. To avoid hotlinking I have the more Wastelandy pictures in a Photobucket album, with the author/photographer's name on each one and a link to the original article in the description of each one, but if you want to see them all in context then definitely go to http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/chile-s-largest-nitrate-ghost-town and check it out.

How does Photobucket work for you? Does it cost? Can you easily access the pictures and link them to posts? It's so easy to share pics on Facebook that I'm not posting them anywhere that people I know on DW/LJ can see them. And I do like the idea of creating albums to help one's creativity.

I use photobucket for free, although I don't remember the terms and conditions, so God only knows what rights I may or may not have signed away to various images- given that I mostly use it as a place to stick pictures that I want to link in other posts so that I avoid hotlinking back to the originals I'm not in a position to fuss over that. I signed up for an account ages ago and it's basically a lot of drag-and-drop, plus there are some very basic editing tools in case I don't feel like opening Photoscape or MS Paint to resize or rotate something.
