Feb. 21st, 2014 09:01 amDresser's been sanded, stained, and varnished; there's two coats of varnish on everything except the insides and bottoms of the drawers, the inside of the dresser itself, and the metal parts. All that's left now is to replace the knobs that were part of the original purchase, as while they're okay, they're fairly ordinary wooden knobs. I'll probably stop at the hardware store tonight and see what they have.
And despite this taking the better part of a week and smelling up the apartment and making the cats unhappy because an entire room of the place has been barred to them the whole time, I'm still thinking 'you know, the bed was an IKEA bed that I bought used on Craigslist, and one of the pieces never did get put back into place after it had to be disassembled and reassembled, and the support slats are always just this side of falling out completely if I'm not careful, and Bostonwood makes beds, and they have a headboard with three bookshelf-style cubbies....'
Eh, I'll post pictures of the dresser once it's done.
