Jan. 21st, 2014 08:50 amNote to self: the next time we make the chocolate savory cream sauce for pasta, add some peas and some bacon or pancetta. Between reducing the cream down to the point of extra thickness, the dark chocolate, and then the cacao nibs, it feels very much like carbonara sauce in the mouth despite the lack of eggs, and the chocolate gives it a kind of smoky taste that would go well with the bacon.
Oh, and also get some curtain tiebacks and a new lamp soon. The curtains we got this weekend do an unbelievable job of making the living room and the bedroom look like a Proper Grown-Up lives there, but we need to pull them back and let the light in without just shoving them to one side or the other.
