I got my first "If there's ever an apocalypse, I'm coming to your house" from somebody I only know completely offline yesterday. I'm known at the office for bringing in homemade beef jerky and occasionally baked goods, but the fact that I know how to make cheese and ice cream came up, and, well.... there are worse things to hear from the company president and CIO.

Since I moved out of my parents' home I have never lived in an apartment that was anywhere but the top floor of a building. This was purley by accident on my part but it is starting to look like a subconsciously strategic decision JUST IN CASE.
