I would point and laugh but my brain has its own way of tormenting me with things that are improbable.

The major reason it's not going to happen is because buying the necessary tools would bring the price up to the same total as buying an actual kayak, and probably result in a sucky first time effort because without my own house, I'd be building the thing in the basement and trying not to bang into the laundry machines.
