This is new.
Sep. 3rd, 2013 11:49 amI don't have a car. Gave mine up ages ago when I moved to Jersey City- the insurance rates were too high- and joined Zipcar instead. Still have my membership, which is good, because Boston isn't really a great place to own a car but sometimes you need one. Today this showed up in my email:
"Make an impact for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community with our Honda GLAAD Insights – we'll donate $1 of free drive time an hour that these cars are on the road." http://www.zipcar.com/equality
Huh.
There don't seem to be very many of them in the area. Nearest one is about two and a half miles from where I work. Still, if I get the opportunity I may rent it at some point. Maybe if this does well, they'll expand the program to other charitable initiatives.
