camwyn'm awake. Was up until around 1 AM Eastern last night watching other people tell me about the Texas SB 5 filibuster. Went to bed after hearing parliamentary procedure apparently only applies when you are a woman, but if you are a man and you really really want something, it's totally okay to shatter the rules six ways from Sunday.
Got up this morning, found that they'd been forced to admit that the vote didn't count because of the time frame, was pleased. Checked election results for Massachusetts, saw Ed Markey had won, was pleased. (Side note: Massachusetts voters apparently have election fatigue because of three special elections in two years or something. Pff. My first year in Hoboken they had three elections for Mayor in the course of less than nine months.)
Will be doing some letter-writing and email-writing later today to my Congresspeople about Voting Rights Act stuff because SCOTUS thpppt.
I promise I will be more articulate than this when I do the letter writing.
