I just got home from running an errand to see my Mom asking me if I'd heard about it.

I did cross country and track in high school and considered the possibility of marathon running for a while. The reason I sign my first initial followed by a period, rather than my full first name, is because of the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon- Kathrine Switzer, who got away with signing up only because she signed her name 'K. Switzer' and said she ALWAYS signed her name that way, so it wasn't as if she was trying to defraud anyone.

Somewhere along the way I realized I just did not want to spend three hours at a time continuously running, so that dropped marathons off my radar as far as endurance events went.
