Feb. 15th, 2011 03:02 pmAnybody here at all familiar with using a medicine ball as part of an abdominal workout? I'm seeing stuff about using one in a pass-from-hand-to-hand exercise for the obliques, and it looks like it might be worthwhile because I hate just doing crunches, but I'd like to know if it's at all effective. Also how heavy the thing ought to be, because the ones at Modell's are expensive. If we're talking a weight in the eight pound vicinity I'm just going to buy a gallon of water and use that. I'm told a basketball filled with sand weighs in at about ten pounds, so if I can get an old one from someone who'd otherwise throw theirs out I'll just go with that instead.
