Sep. 20th, 2010 08:06 amWell, I'm up and I'm at work. Not thrilled about being up, but I had hot chocolate this morning, so that's good.
I need to call the vet today. Yesterday I went to check on Shula's insurance claim and they had it marked temporarily denied. They need the itemized receipt for his treatment faxed to them, so I'm going to get that from the vet today and send it in and hope they repay quickly so I can start repaying everyone who helped out. Also so that I can get him his prescription cat food. He's recovered very nicely and has gotten to the point of waking me up by sitting next to my head and MREEOW MREEEOW MREEEH at about six in the morning, and he's using his litterbox properly, too. So that's good too.
I made apple slab this weekend and brought it to my parents' yesterday. Both Mom and Dad wanted two pieces, and I liked it a lot myself. My nephew only had a little of it, but he's a fussy eater at this age anyway so no big surprise there. My niece was happy with her sherbet (if I have any UK readers looking at this who aren't familiar with the American dessert in question, our sherbet is a frozen fruit-flavored ice-cream-like thing, not anything fizzy or powdered or involving a straw) and never got anywhere near the slab. I'll probably make the stuff again in future. It's a nice recipe and it's easily divided among a lot of people. So, again, that's good.
For now, all is well, and I am glad of it.
