Apr. 14th, 2010 07:46 amMemo to self: the next time you go to Whole Foods for store brand cat food*, if you opt to get a full 24 cans of it**, that is not a good time to decide that you should get flour. And if you do decide to get flour, just get one bag. And if you get more than one bag, put the flour in a separate bag from the cat food.
There was no catastrophic accident. But the nearest Whole Foods to my apartment is on 25th in Manhattan, so the easiest way home was via the PATH, and the easiest way home from there was to walk from the PATH station***. When you are carrying 24 cans of cat food, two five-pound bags of flour, and two bottles of Prometheus Springs Lychee Wasabi Capsaicin Elixir****, and they are all in one bag, and it is a standard Whole Foods recycled plastic reusable bag, it leaves marks on your shoulders. Bruises/broken blood vessels, not just grooves.
Not doin' that again. Next time I'm just bringing my computer backpack. Without the laptop in it it can carry an obscene amount of stuff, and ITS straps are padded.
*59 cents a can and my cats love it. I am good with this.
**24 cans is one case, and when you buy a case's worth they knock the price down to 53 cents a can.
***Light rail would put me out about a quarter mile from my apartment, but I'd have to walk close to two blocks across the Hoboken terminal to get to the light rail, and at that time of day there wouldn't be seats unless I shoved my way on the train first, so there's no point.
