Did the stairs yesterday again. Second time since the trial. Thought I'd've lost time/endurance but when it comes down to it I did basement to 40th floor in (3:06 + 2:59 + 2:53 + 2:51) and then back down again on foot for a total of 22:34 minutes. Only rest stop was to walk in circles and stretch for a while on the 40th floor before heading downstairs, and then to grab my stuff and gulp some water on floor 29. So I'm back where I was before, I think. My calves need more stretching, as the right one's sore, and I'm more tired afterwards than I remember, but I can still perform and it's not as if I'm having the horribly painful calves and quads that I did when I started this all off. (Word of advice: don't try to run up the stairs unless you have adequately prepared your lower legs for use as springs.) If I can still keep up ten floors in three minutes then I have a respectable pace for the Climb to the Top proper.

Those of you who don't know why I'm doing this- I'm enrolled in a fundraiser for the New York chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We start off on the mezzanine floor of the GE Building in Rockefeller Center, NY, and we, as the event name says, climb to the top. That's sixty-six floors of New York City skyscraper, a thousand people, and two rest stops along the way.
