*belated by a few hours*
Jul. 10th, 2008 11:17 amO BLESSED BLESSED GIFT OF WILLIS CARRIER, HE WHO MADE TRAIN TRAVEL BEARABLE.
I'd have a hell of a time dragging myself to work in the morning if I didn't know that I could look forward to actual air conditioning on the trains after dealing with the heat and yech of a) the walk to the train station and b) the even worse heat and yech of the train station itself. Honestly, when they tell you heat rises, they forget to mention 'but if the only way it can rise out of an enclosed space is through three small, irregularly spaced openings, it'll say bugger all this for a lark and settle RIGHT in wherever it can find the smelliest bits of stagnant water and/or biologically active trash'.
