H'kay, I figured I'd better get this out of the way...

My birthday falls on a Friday this year, and it's coming up soon. Apparently the movie studio gods have seen fit to give me Speed Racer as a present. Does anybody want to get together Saturday evening for celebration? (Not because I'd rather see Speed Racer than people, but because I know a lot of y'all in the New York City area aren't gonna be available after sundown on Friday.)

Sweet. Now I get to start looking for kosher places that you guys like, since if Batya or Alex are going to be available for this, that's a consideration. (if not, then descending upon the Jekyll and Hyde club is probably the most sensible thing.)

(as far as anything to do with me and the Jekyll and Hyde Club can ever be sensible.)

I'd like to go, if you'll have me. Speed Racer is one of the few things from my childhood that you can't really mess up, I think (Unless they make Racer X a chick or something) so it should be pretty free of brain breaking.

Nah, Racer X is gonna be a guy. Christina Ricci's playing Trixie, John Goodman's playing Pops, and it looks like they got an actual chimp for Chim-Chim rather than the CGI critter I'd heard about.

I figure movie night is probably best done on Friday and dinner done on Saturday unless people want to get together on Saturday for the movie and then the food. And you're more than welcome, hon.
